West Midlands
  1. How many sessions will I need?
This will depend on your individual circumstances and will be discussed during our first session. I will advise how many sessions I think are needed to best deal with your needs, but between us we will decide on the best course of action to take.
  2. How long is each session?
A session typically lasts one hour. Some sessions are slightly shorter or longer in some cases, and smoking cessation takes between 90 minutes and two hours.
  3. How much will it cost?
Each session generally costs £60.00 per hour Please see the Fees page as this will give a breakdown of costs.
  4. What happens at the first session?
During this time a detailed case history will be taken and we will discuss what you hope to gain from hypnotherapy. I will then introduce you to hypnotherapy with a relaxation method so you can see what hypnotherapy entails. This will give you a good idea of what to expect at future sessions.
  5. What happens during hypnosis?
I will help you, using various methods to go into a very relaxed state. During this relaxed state your unconscious mind will listen and respond to my suggestions for change. All you have to do is relax.
  6. What happens if I fall asleep?
The state of relaxation experienced during hypnosis is not the same as sleeping, despite the word 'sleep' being used in some cases. Occasionally some people do fall asleep and this is nothing to be worried about. I will just gently wake you up and continue with the session.
  7. What happens if I can't wake up?
This won't happen. During each session, I will go though a 'waking' process that will bring you round so that you are fully aware and ready to get on with your usual activities.
  8. Can you make me do something against my will?
The simple answer here is No! You may have seen entertainers on TV making people do various embarrassing things, but this is all staged. Your mind won't allow you to do anything that you deem immoral or that would cause you physical or mental harm. You are always in control.
  9. Can hypnotherapy cure me?
An ethical hypnotherapist will never offer to cure you. All I can say is that I will give you 100% of my effort in helping you to overcome your obstacles to achieve your desired outcome. If you can give me 100% of your effort, together we have a very good chance of succeeding.
  10. How do I know the therapist is qualified?
I hold the industry based award GQHP - General Qualification in Hypnotherapy Practice and am accredited with the General Hypnotherapy Standards Council and General Hypnotherapy Register.
